The first flower of spring - the daffodil - will soon be in bloom throughout the city thanks to some encouragement by the American Cancer Society and Provo City.
The society's Provo unit will sell daffodils as part of its Daffodil Days celebration this month. All proceeds will go toward public education programs and patient services.Provo City has joined in the celebration by declaring March 13 to 18 as Daffodil Days, urging all residents to join with volunteers to support the occasion by donating for daffodils.
Residents can purchase a bunch of ten daffodils - the American Cancer Society's official symbol of hope in the fight against cancer - for $3. The Cancer Society is now taking orders for the flowers.
