Uinta National Forest officials have announced changes in hiring procedures for summer jobs.
The changes will become effective immediately. All summer job applicants must now go through Job Service."The old process of filling out an application and sending it in at the first of the year has been eliminated," said Don Nebeker, forest supervisor. "Applicants must now obtain their forms at Job Service. We will still retain the authority to do the hiring."
Positions available this summer will include forestry aides/technicians, engineering aides/technicians and range aides/technicians. The jobs will begin approximately May 15 and continue through Sept. 30.
Applicants should go to only one Job Service location, either in Provo or Heber. If the applicant wants to work somewhere other than locally, Job Service will forward the application. Applications must be in by March 31.
Those who live out of state and are interested in working in the forest may obtain an application packet from any Uinta National Forest office. The completed application should then be returned to either the Provo or Heber Job Service office by March 25 for processing.
For more information, contact the Provo Job Service office, 1550 N. Second West, 373-7500, or the Heber Job Service office, 90 North Valley Square Shopping Center, 654-0360.
