A pregnant Colombian has been convicted of swallowing pellets filled with about 2 pounds of cocaine in a botched smuggling scheme that would have earned her $2,000, a profit she said she had planned to use to take her children to Disney World.

A federal jury Wednesday found Iveth Rocha, 22, guilty of conspiracy to import cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Her trial was nearly postponed Tuesday when she was thought to be going into labor. "She was six months pregnant when she was arrested. She's due any day now," said Diane Cossin, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney.
