David Crosby, who has his career back on track after suffering the despair of drug addiction, knew he had to move from the San Francisco Bay Area if he was going to get straight. "It was too easy to mess up there," said Crosby, who now lives in Encino outside Los Angeles. "I probably know 25 dealers inside of five minutes worth of driving and it was just too easy." Since getting out of a Texas prison, where he served time for drugs, in 1986, Crosby has kept busy writing his autobiography and cutting records. "I like to stay very busy . . . idle hands are the devil's playground. That's the truth."
