A 57-year-old man who admitted setting up bogus federal programs to entice young children to participate in so-called scientific experiments was convicted of 12 counts of sexually abusing children.

An Allegheny County jury deliberated 51/2 hours Tuesday before deciding Eugene Allen of suburban Wilkinsburg was guilty of all charges, including sexual abuse of children, indecent assault and corrupting the morals of a minor.Allen, a traveling salesman who dropped out of high school, photographed two children, aged 8 and 9, while catheterizing them and using a self-invented device called a kidney machine on them.
