John B. Goddard, chairman of the board of the Ogden-based United Savings/Western Mortgage family of companies, has been appointed vice chairman of the 12th District of the Federal Home Loan Bank for 1989. He succeeds B.R. Beeksma, chairman of the board of Interwest Savings Bank, Oak Harbor, Wash.
The district, based in Seattle, Wash., regulates about 130 savings and loan institutions in Utah, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska."Savings and loans are vital to Utah and the nation and being a member of the FHLB board will give Utah a voice in the regulatory decision-making that affects us," said Goddard.
Goddard founded United Savings in 1958 and it now services nearly 45,000 home loans totaling $2.5 billion. The company has branches in eight Western states and assets of more than $244 million.
