Zions First National Bank has opened its ninth branch in a grocery store, this time in Smith's Food and Drug, 7061 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. The grand opening will be March 15-21.
The 850 square-foot branch will provide a full range of banking services from checking and savings account deposits and withdrawals to loans and discount brokerage services. The emphasis will be convenience, said Cynthia Couillard, new branch manager. With four teller stations and three minioffices with desks, the branch will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and shoppers also can use an automated teller machine 24 hours a day. There will be eight full-time employees.
David Fuhriman, Zions senior vice president, said customer response to Zions branches in other supermarkets has been gratifying, prompting opening of the new branch.
During the grand opening, there will be a prize drawing for a television and Smith's gift certificates. Children can guess the number of pennies in a glass pig and the two closest to the actual amount will win mountain bikes. Balloons, key chains and pens will also be given away.
