Miss Minnesota Julie Knutson may not have a chip on her shoulder but Tuesday night she'll parade in an evening gown made entirely of computer chips during the Miss USA beauty pageant.

The chip couture is the product of Minneapolis-based Cray Research Inc., a supercomputer manufacturer with operations in Chippewa Falls, Wis.The chips used to create the dress to be worn by Knutson are scrap components from Cray's manufacturing areas, Cray spokeswoman Tina Bonetti said.

One requirement of Tuesday night's pageant in Mobile, Ala., is that each contestant wear a costume that illustrates something related to her home state.
