A Midvale man found guilty of negligent homicide in the hit-and-run death of a teenage skateboarder was given a 360-day jail sentence Monday and ordered to pay restitution.

Miles M. Jefferson, 26, 112 E. 7060 South, was found guilty of the Class A misdemeanor by a six-member jury in January. He was accused of driving the car that struck and killed Tony Lee Burr, 15, of Sandy, while Burr was riding a skateboard on Bengal Boulevard near 25th East Oct. 10. Burr's body was discovered about 10:30 p.m.Third Circuit Judge Maurice Jones will schedule a hearing to determine the amount of restitution Jefferson is to pay, according to a court docket.
