For the fourth consecutive year, the College of Southern Idaho has won the Region 18 Junior College Men's Basketball Championship. The Golden Eagles, currently ranked first nationally, will host the regional finals starting Thursday in Twin Falls, Idaho.

At 30-1 this season, Southern Idaho will play regional eighth-place finisher Eastern Utah. Southern Idaho defeated Dixie College 109-90 and Snow College 111-49 last week to wrap up regular season regional competition at 15-1, losing only to North Idaho early in the season.Dixie and Utah Valley tied for second in the region with identical 15-3 records. A coin toss will determine seeding into the tournament. The second-place team will face Ricks College and the third-place team draws Snow in the finals.

Dixie defeated Treasure Valley 108-105 after losing at Southern Idaho, and Utah Valley beat Eastern Utah 90-74 and Colorado Northwestern 123-88.

North Idaho, in fourth place following a 103-77 win over Ricks, will meet Treasure Valley in the other regional quarterfinal game. Treasure Valley defeated Snow 82-77 to claim fifth place.

In other games over the weekend, Salt Lake Community, declared unable to participate in the regional finals tourney due to its use of an ineligible player earlier this season, defeated Colorado Northwestern 145-101, and Eastern Utah 102-83.
