The sheriff's office is investigating the death of a Price man whose body was found Tuesday evening in a shallow grave in the northeastern part of the county.

Sheriff Lamar Guymon said Gary Webb, 31, apparently died of multiple gunshot wounds in the head and chest.The sheriff said the body had been in the grave since about March 1. The grave is between Wellington and Green River in a hilly area in the Horse Canyon Mine area about five miles southeast of East Carbon City, Carbon County.

Guymon said the sheriff's office has suspects in the slaying. The victim, who had been missing since about March 1, was single, unemployed and lived in an apartment on west Main Street in Price.

Guymon said the body was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Salt Lake City.
