A Salt Lake man assaulted at a party over the weekend bled to death after being stabbed in the upper thigh, police said Monday.

Sgt. Chuck Cockayne said Jeremy P. Vigil, 20, 325 Argyle Court, was stabbed during a fight outside a party at 1497 W. Fourth South about 1 a.m. Saturday.Cockayne said Vigil and some friends crashed the party. "The people at the party took offense to that and a fight broke out." Vigil was stabbed in the leg, the weapon piercing his femural artery, the sergeant said.

Michael Leon Jensen, 24, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of homicide.
