Colorado State earned its fourth team title in seven attempts in High Country Athletic Conference swimming and diving finals. The Rams scored 658 points and were followed by BYU, the defending champions, with 475; Utah with 389; Wyoming 197; New Mexico State 186; and New Mexico 179.

BYU's Meldon Kenney won the 200 backstroke, Marlo Bissegger the 200 butterfly and Courtney Nelson the three-meter diving.Utah's Kathy Pierce set an HCAC meet record in the 1,650 freestyle of 17 minutes, 15.44 seconds. John Mattos of Colorado State was named HCAC Coach of the Year.
