An Arizona man and woman remained in the Millard County Jail Saturday for investigation in connection with the shooting death of a California man, authorities said.

Tracy Ray Jones and Carol Lynn Henneberry, both 18, of Bullhead City, Ariz., were detained early Thursday after a routine traffic stop on Interstate 15 near the central Utah town of Holden, said Sheriff Ed Phillips. He said Henneberry and Jones, who was driving the car with California plates, were taken into custody when Deputy DeVon Quarnberg became suspicious "about the true name of the driver and the ownership of the car."

Phillips said that after the pair were questioned, police in Bullhead City were asked to search an area near Highway 95, and they found the body of Rodolfo Baltazar, 19, Needles, Calif., who apparently died of multiple shotgun wounds.

A 12-gauge shotgun was found in the car, which belonged to Baltazar, the sheriff said.

A detective from Bullhead City was expected to arrive in Fillmore Monday to question the pair, Phillips said.
