State officials have pulled the licenses of a Salt Lake County construction and development company that had failed to pay its bills and left homeowners liable for the debts.

An order from Utah's Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing lists nine instances in which Lichtie Construction and Development and Michael J. Lichtie Construction built homes, were paid for the jobs but failed to pay suppliers and subcontractors. The suppliers and subcontractors in turn filed liens against the newly constructed homes in Farmington, Sandy and Murray. The order said Lichtie failed to respond to complaints or appear at a hearing before the division's administrative law judge.

Officials said Lichtie violated state laws for his conduct and recommended revoking the licenses of his two companies to perform contracting in Utah.
