Salt Lake attorney Max A. Farbman has resigned as chairman of the Utah Economic Development Board and will be replaced by H. Roger Boyer, general partner of the Boyer Co.
Farbman told board members he sent Gov. Norm Bangerter a resignation letter a month ago and the governor selected Boyer as the chairman. The board concurred in Bangerter's action.The outgoing chairman conducted his last board meeting Tuesday, but has agreed to remain as a member of the board and a member of the executive committee. Boyer also will serve on the executive committee and appoint a first vice chairman and second vice chairman to the committee.
In other action, the board and the governor presented a plaque to David J. Grant, Utah Division of Business and Economic Development director, who resigned several weeks ago, but agreed to stay on during the legislative session.
Grant said he is attempting to purchase a business or start a new business. David W. Adams, Utah Department of Community and Economic Development executive director, said he hasn't yet found areplacement for Grant.
