The rap against the Grammys is that there isn't enough time to televise the presentation of the rap awards, according to three nominees. D.J. Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Salt & Pepa and LL Cool J - all nominees for the first rap Grammy - say they will boycott the Wednesday ceremony because the announcement of the rap winner will not be televised. "Rap music is simply too big to be overlooked like this," said Will Smith, aka the Fresh Prince, "so we felt we just had to stay away from the show and stand up and protest with the other rappers." Michael Greene, president of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, says he can't close the rap gap because there just isn't enough television time.
