A reserve wide receiver for the Central State football team died of a gunshot wound in an apparent suicide police said they believe may have been connected to gambling losses.

Capt. Ron Cavin of the Edmond Police Department said Kenneth Wayne Wright, a junior from Hutchins, Texas, died of a gunshot wound to the head. His roommate heard two clicks and then a gunshot and found Wright dead in his bedroom at the apartment the two shared near the Central State campus, police said.
