Salt Lake detectives Wednesday were investigating the armed robbery of a coin-operated laundromat on the city's west side.

Witnesses told authorities the man in his 20s entered Century Laundry, 910 W. North Temple, shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday. The man handed the 33-year-old female clerk a note and had a handgun in his left hand that was pulled through the leg of a pair of denim trousers, said Lt. Joel Campbell.The man left the scene on foot, Campbell said. An undetermined amount of cash was taken, but no one was injured.
