Fourth District Judge Cullen Y. Christensen will hear oral arguments Tuesday on a defense motion for a new trial for Allan B. Hadfield.

Hadfield's attorney, Bradley Rich, filed the motion in March before his client was sentenced. In his motion, Rich claims that one of the eight jurors, who convicted Hadfield on Dec. 20 after 10 hours of deliberations, was intimidated by other jurors to go along with the guilty verdict.

The motion also maintains that jurors wrongly believed Hadfield refused to take a lie detector test.

The Utah attorney general's office has filed a response opposing the motion for a new trial.
