For the third consecutive year, American Fork High School cheerleaders are competing in a national cheerleading competition. The six-member squad is in Orlando, Fla., for the National High School Dance Team Championship. The six qualified through superior ratings in a state camp last summer, adviser Pam Beckstrand said. "They've averaged about nine extra hours a week of a practice since September," she said. "My goal is just to be in the finals again this year, but if we can place like we have in the past two years, that would be great." The squad has won second- and third-place awards.
