Two of the Salt Lake Valley's original wards of the LDS Church will mark their 140th anniversary with a reunion at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 13th Ward Chapel, 375 E. First South.

The 6th and 7th Wards were organized Feb. 22, 1849. As Salt Lake City grew, the two wards were combined in 1922 and eventually dissolved in 1964.President Thomas S. Monson, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and former bishop of the 6th-7th Ward, is scheduled to speak at the reunion. In addition, a program, socializing and refreshments are planned for former ward members.
