Allen Ginsberg, the guru of the Beat Generation, will read in Salt Lake City next week.

At noon on Feb. 22 in the University of Utah Student Union Building, Ginsberg will offer his ideas and several selections from his work.Admission is free.

"We thought Ginsberg would be a good choice for our series," says Joe Prokop, U. Lectures Committee chairman. "He's of interest to older students and younger students alike. His work is taught in the curriculum here, and we thought people might enjoy getting his enlightened opinion firsthand."

Ginsberg is the author of "Howl," perhaps the most influential American poem since "Leaves of Grass." He has published many collections of poetry and was the guiding light for the San Francisco Beat movement in the '60s.
