Dale Longhurst, a property manager and vice president of Real Estate Management Associates of Salt Lake City, has been elected president of the Apartment Association of Utah for 1989.

Longhurst has been active in apartment management since 1978 and is a certified property manager. He has a bachelor's degree in finance from BYU and has been the association's first vice president.Other officers are Steven M. Hansen, vice president of Sigman Corp., a real estate services company, first vice president; Joan Cline-Karren, owner-manager of Evans Inc., a company providing automated laundry systems to apartments, second vice president; and Jake Amos, residential property manager for Prowswood Inc., secretary/treasurer.

Hansen has been active in apartment management since 1974 and is a certified property manager. He holds a master's degree in business management and is an adjunct professor of management at Salt Lake Community College.

Cline-Karren has been involved in the association for 12 years and is active in the Salt Lake Product/Service Council and the Salt Lake Multi-Housing Board.

Amos has been active in the AAU board of directors since 1979 and was association president in 1984.
