An Salt Lake man was in satisfactory condition Saturday at LDS Hospital from injuries he suffered when a wall collapsed on top of him, police said.
Police said four men were removing 2-by-4 boards from the walls of an abandoned house at 150 W. Lucy Ave. when the walls gave way and pinned Siaosi Aiona, 20, at about 10:30 a.m. Friday."The walls came tumbling down like Jericho," police said. The men had apparently been removing the boards for several days and claimed to have permission from the owner.
A neighbor called the fire department, which responded and extricated Aiona from the wreckage, according to a police report. The other men fled the scene before officers arrived.
