The Volunteer Auxiliary at Orem Community Hospital recently presented a check for $4,500 to the hospital to purchase an arthroscope (used for joint surgery) and a nitrous oxide machine for use in the emergency center.

The funds raised during 1988 were nearly double the amount raised in previous years. The money came from proceeds from the hospital gift shop, bake and rummage sales and other activities, said Jayne Woodward, auxiliary president. The Volunteer Auxiliary's 30 members provide non-medical assistance to patients and staff and operate the hospital's gift shop. Anyone wanting to be a volunteer is asked to call the hospital at 224-4080, ext. 181.
