University of Utah students cut through the cold Wednesday, making blankets for the homeless. The project, part of the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center's campaign for the homeless, used 28 rolls of Synchilla cloth donated by the local Patagonia outlet. The Synchilla doesn't unravel when cut, and volunteers freehanded 550 blankets from the 1,300 square yards of warm material. The blankets were delivered to St. Vincent De Paul Center, Crossroads Urban Center, Valley Storefront and the Community Action Program for distribution.
