Margaret Lisonbee, of the Women's Army Corps, shares some of the hundreds of cards received at the Veterans Administration Medical Center with veteran Jim Freeman. The cards were mailed to Salt Lake City from throughout the United States in honor of the hospitalized veterans, some of whose world has become as narrow as a hospital corridor. During the weeklong National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans, the men and women who still bear the scars of war were shown that hospital staff members aren't the only ones who care. Americans care about the brave Americans who made possible the freedom citizens enjoy today.
