Labor force data will be collected in the Salt Lake area by the Census Bureau the week of Feb. 19-25.

William F. Adams, director of the bureau's Denver regional office, said the information will contribute to February's national employment and unemployment statistics, to be released March 10 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.December data, the most current, showed a national civilian unemployment rate of 5.3 percent. Also, December data showed 4.7 percent of adult men were jobless; 4.7 percent of adult women; 14.8 percent of teenagers; 4.6 percent of whites; 11.6 percent of blacks; and 7.6 percent of Hispanics.

By law, information supplied to the Census Bureau is kept confidential. Only statistical totals are published, officials said.
