Funeral for Franklin Euray Anderson, 86, who died Feb. 12, 1989, was held Wednesday in the Hunter 8th Ward chapel. Burial was in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
An artist, Mr. Anderson was known for painting scenes of the West and particularly of rural Utah at the turn of the century. Many of his themes came from his memories of growing up as the son of a forest ranger. His works showed cowboys and Indians, cattle ranching and farm life, among other subjects.A native of Ephraim, Mr. Anderson graduated from Snow College and Brigham Young University.
He was a charter member of the Associated Utah Artists and was the group's president for several years. He gave a gold medallion to an outstanding student artist in the Granite School District each year.
He was also a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
