A Salt Lake woman who was dragged underneath a car was in serious condition Tuesday at LDS Hospital with injuries suffered in the hit-and-run accident.
Roberta G. Gunnell, 31, suffered leg, pelvis and chest injuries when she was struck by a car while crossing a Salt Lake street, according to a Salt Lake police report.A car stopped for Gunnell and Fred Fife, 30, a KTVX-TV reporter and part-time anchor, who were crossing Seventh West and Second South at 1 a.m. Sunday, the report said. A second vehicle accelerated around the stopped car and struck the pair.
Gunnell was carried one-tenth of a mile where she was dropped by the vehicle. Fife was knocked over by the car and was also transported to LDS Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
