A Salt Lake man injured about 8:50 p.m. Saturday in a hit-and-run auto-pedestrian accident at 33rd South and State Street has been released from St. Mark's Hospital after being treated for scrapes and bruises.

A hospital spokeswoman said Robert Johnson, 28, suffered no broken bones but was held overnight for observation.Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Robinson said Johnson's legs were run over by a car when he slipped on the ice while crossing north across the west crosswalk on 33rd South.

The officer said the car, described as a cream-colored luxury sedan, went north on State Street after the accident.

Johnson is lucky that he wasn't more seriously injured, Robinson said.
