Rose Mary Pedersen Budge, Deseret News fashion editor, has received her second Aldo Award for excellence in covering men's fashion. Award ceremonies were held during the Men's Fashion Association press preview in Los Angeles.

The Aldo Award, named after the late jewelry designer Aldo Cipullo, formerly was called the Lulu. Budge received the Aldo last year and the Lulu Award several years ago. She has been a runner-up in the contest twice.This year's Aldo Awards was the 30th annual journalism awards night sponsored by the MFA. The black-tie event was held in the Crystal Room of the Biltmore Hotel. J. C. Penney's was host.

Presenting Budge with her Aldo was actor Michael Dorn of "Star Trek - The Next Generation."

The awards competition is open to fashion editors and broadcasters from throughout the United States. In the print media division, categories are designated by newspaper circulation. The award was initiated to spotlight reporters who have made special editorial effort to promote menswear and interpret clothing trends for the consumer.

Judges include representatives of fashion and journalism colleges, the publishing and graphics field and executives from the male apparel industry.
