A teenager, apparently angry at being turned away from a "Sweet 16" party, opened fire on 40 people standing on a Bronx subway platform, wounding six people, police said.

Four men and two teenage girls were wounded, said Al O'Leary, a Transit Police spokesman. One of the men, who was shot in the stomach, was in critical condition, while the others were in satisfactory condition, he said.The gunman, described by witnesses as about 17, fired a 9mm automatic pistol on a crowded Bronx subway platform at about 1 a.m. Sunday, O'Leary said. The attacker fled and no arrests were made.
