The Rock Canyon Roadrunners are gearing up for the school's birthday party as the school turns 25 years old this week.

An open house will be Feb. 9, 6-7 p.m., in the school's media center, 2405 North 650 East. Former faculty, staff and PTA officers are invited to the open house.Following the open house, a special birthday program written by PTA board members Martha Henstrom and Charlene Thomas, will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the school's gym. Present and former students are invited.

Rock Canyon Elementary School was dedicated Feb. 12, 1965 by school administrators. Former principals Lincoln Card and Tom Carter will be at this week's celebration.

A birthday lunch, displays, a band and orchestra concert and Brown and Gold Day will also be part of the birthday activities.
