Braving temperatures of 10 below zero Wednesday, the Salt Lake Winter Games Organizing Committee, including Jill Remington, left, Susan Norris, Bob Gore and Jack Turner, donned cross-country skis for a tour of Olympic venues selected for the city's bid for the 1998 Winter Olympics. Former U.S. Ski Team member and current committee member Turner coaxed some intrepid committee members around a cross-country ski track at Jeremy Ranch. "This gives us a firsthand taste of what we have to offer," he said. The group was expected to visit all ski venues proposed for the games, including cross-country skiing at Mountain Dell Golf Course near Salt Lake City, downhill ski racing at Snow Basin near Ogden, slalom racing at Park City and Deer Valley in Summit County and ski jumping and bobsled and luge racing in Summit County.
