A Roy pharmacist charged in Davis County with three counts of drug distribution has withdrawn from a plea bargain negotiated with county prosecutors, hired a new lawyer, and will go to trial April 12.

H. John March, 36, owner of U&I Pharmacy in Roy, appeared in 2nd District Court Jan. 24 and told Judge Rodney S. Page he had agreed to a plea negotiation stipulating he would plead guilty to a felony drug distribution charge in Weber County in return for having two felony and one misdemeanor distribution charge in Davis County dismissed.March and his attorney, Ron Perkins, were scheduled to return to district court Jan. 31 to sign the plea bargain agreement and affidavit. But Perkins showed up alone the next week, telling the judge March had decided against the deal, hired a new attorney, and would fight the charge.

In court Tuesday, March's new attorney, Bradley Rich, told Judge Page that March had waived his circuit court preliminary hearing on the charges and he would need four to six weeks to prepare a defense.
