An apparently ungrateful motorist who ran out of gas robbed at gunpoint a Salt Lake County man who had stopped to help him - but not until after his car was gassed up and running.

According to a sheriff's report, a man was driving on I-215 near the Redwood Road exit about 11 p.m. Friday night when he stopped and offered help to a motorist who had run out of gas.He drove the stranded motorist around for about an hour trying to find a place to cash the man's check.

After they gassed and started the car, the owner of the car then pulled a gun on the man who had helped him and took $110.
