The 4A and 3A playoffs are less than three weeks away and the end of the regular season for most regions will last only a few more games.

Here's how the leagues are shaping up for their respective state-tournament berths. Actual overall and region records for each team are included on the Scoreboard section at left.Region 1: With a two-game slate remaining, Bonneville and Clearfield are in the playoffs, with Roy and Weber tied for the third and final automatic berth. The loser of the two will have to withstand any late surge from Box Elder before advancing to an inter-region playoff with Region 3's No. 5 team.

Region 2: A three-game set is still to be played, with Brighton and Bingham assured of a playoff appearance and American Fork and Orem having a two-game lead for the third and fourth berths. Alta is a game beyond Hillcrest and West Jordan for a chance to make an inter-region playoff with Region 4's fourth-place team.

Region 3: Each of the seven league members have either two or three games remaining, with Skyline playoff-bound and Cottonwod all but assured of the same. Taylorsville is a half-game up on Olympus for third place, while Granger is at least two better than Cyprus and Kearns for fifth-place honors.

Region 4: Three nights of league competition remain, and three games separate co-leaders Bountiful and East from Davis and Viewmont at the bottom of the standings. Woods Cross has a one-game lead on Highland for the third and final automatic playoff spot.

Region 5: A three-game slate remains to be played, but Mountain Crest is assured a playoff berth and is only a win away from the league crown. Two games behind is Ogden, with the trio of Sky View, Logan and Ben Lomond still another game behind.

Region 6: Also with three nights of play left, Judge is assured of a playoff spot while leading Tooele and Jordan by a game. Three games behind are Murray and West, who are elbowing for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Region 7: Each of the three teams still has to play the other two one more time, with Pine View possessing a one-game lead over Dixie.

Region 8: A four-game set remains, plus a make-up game between Pleasant Grove and Uintah. Provo, PG, Timpview and Spanish Fork are all playoff-bound, and Provo has a two-game lead over the other trio battling for second, third and fourth. Payson appears to have an edge for fifth, with Carbon a game up on Springville for the sixth and final berth.

2A and 1A teams: Regions 9 and 10 in the 2A and Regions 11, 12 and 13 in the 1A will all conduct their own post-season league tourney to determine which teams advance to the state playoffs and in which order.
