One of two Ogden men charged with embezzlement from Mountain Oil Co. has been ordered bound over to 2nd District Court for trial on communication fraud allegations, court officials said Thursday.
Following a preliminary hearing in 2nd Circuit Court, Judge Brent West ordered Robert A. Dalton, 54, to stand trial on the felony fraud charges. Dalton was Mountain Oil vice president and general manager.Another suspect, John Paul Becker, 49, faces a Jan. 30 preliminary hearing on similar fraud and theft charges. Becker was an accountant for the retail gasoline company, which has filed for federal bankruptcy.
Charges against both men say that "in excess of $100,000" was embezzled from the company and that corporate records were then altered in an effort to hide the theft.
