A 4th District judge accepted the psychological evaluation results Friday that found a 34-year-old woman mentally ill in the stabbing of her 2-year-old son last spring.

Dixie Madsen had pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the attempted murder charges and Judge Boyd Park ordered her to undergo the mental competency study, a court clerk said.A psychiatric treatment plan will be included in Madsen's sentencing Feb. 24, Park said.

Madsen is charged in the April 22, 1988, stabbing of her son, B.J. Investigators said the toddler was crying for cereal when he was stabbed by his mother.
