Even though some of the big guns stayed home to rest for the Husker meet in Nebraska next weekend, BYU's women's track squad placed second at the Idaho State Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Boise State won first place in the team chase with 59 points, followed by BYU with 45 and ISU with 25.Cougar newcomer Christy Opara from Nigeria placed first in two events. She won the long jump with an 18-31/2 mark and the 55m dash in a 7.10 clocking, two-tenths of a second off the BYU record.

Winning second places for the Cougars were Angela Lee in the mile run (5:17.09); Jody Hendricks, 55m hurdles (8.57); Evalyn Opparah, long jump (18-21/2); Nicole Rothey, 800 meters (2:20.93); Anna Mosdell, shot put (41-4); and Lisa B. Chipman, 3000 (10:29).
