Last week, Barbara Walters added Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to her ever-lengthening list of celebrity interviews. His image to most Americans is that of certified psycho; she found him charming and devious - but sane.
"He is very striking in appearance," Walters said. "He is hardly irrational, although he doesn't look at you; he looks everywhere but in your eyes. He is articulate, prejudiced, and if you listen to him, he is the most wonderful man in the world. He is absolutely compelling."And how much of that does she buy?
"Most of it, I don't believe," she said. "But that's not my job. My job is to present him to the audience."
