President Corazon Aquino said Friday the right-wing threat to her government was "finished" and that the capture of several ranking communist leaders was a turning point in the 19-year communist insurgency.

Aquino, speaking to businessmen, said the neutralization of the threats from both forces has stabilized the political situation and encouraged foreign investment."The country is now settling down to serious work," Aquino said.

"There will be no turning back despite the ludicrous antics of the military right and the occasional bloody ripples of a desperate leftist insurgency," she said.
