Jon M. and Karen H. Huntsman are co-chairmen of the newly formed Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation.

The new foundation is a separately incorporated public charity with articles and bylaws that limit its activities to raising funds for the children's hospital and the investment and distribution of the income and/or principal of these funds solely to Primary Children's.The Salt Lake couple were recent recipients of the United Way's Alexis de Tocqueville Society Award and have filled various leadership positions in their church and in service to other local and national organizations.

Mr. Huntsman is founder and chairman of Huntsman Chemical Corp., the largest privately held chemical firm in North America. He is a trustee of University of Pennsylvania, vice chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, board chairman of the Utah Symphony and Utah's economic ambassador.

Mrs. Huntsman is a member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Board, a director of both Intermountain Health Care and television station KUED. She also serves on the board of Huntsman Chemical Corp. and its affiliated companies.

In accepting the position, Mr. Huntsman said, "Karen and I are delighted to accept this challenging opportunity to serve an institution which has touched the lives of so many children and families in the area.
