"The Doctrine and Covenants - Doctrines for Exaltation" is the topic for the 17th annual Sidney B. Sperry Symposium Feb. 4 at Brigham Young University.

Symposium lecturers include leading scripture experts, many of whom are members of the BYU faculty. Each of the 18 speakers will discuss topics from the Doctrine and Covenants.The keynote address will be given by Chauncey C. Riddle, professor of philosophy at BYU, at 9 a.m. in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium. His topic will be "The New and Everlasting Covenant."

Sessions will run concurrently from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Martin Building.

The symposium is sponsored by Religious Education and Seminaries and Institutes in honor of scholar, teacher and author Sidney B. Sperry, who joined the BYU faculty in 1932.

The symposium is free and the public is welcome. Papers on the sessions will be available through Deseret Book in July.
