Supporters of an expressway along 40th West should lobby hard if they want money to begin the project this year, according to Rep. Stephen Bodily, R-Lewiston, house chairman of the Transportation and Public Safety Appropriations Subcommittee.
Bodily made his comment after supporters of the highway asked the committee for $25 million this session. The highway would connect 21st South with I-15 near the state prison. They say the highway is needed because there is no north-south thoroughfare west of 27th West. The governor, however, only included $12 million for the project in his budget.
