A man carrying what witnesses described as an Uzi-type machine gun fired a shot into a pharmacy Tuesday night after a pharmacist refused to give him drugs.

The gunman approached the pharmacy counter at Osco Drug, 2266 E. 33rd South, about 8:30 p.m. and demanded drugs from the pharmacist, according to a sheriff's office report. When she refused, the man began waving the gun around and then fired the weapon, hitting the back wall of the pharmacy.The gunman, described as being tall and extremely skinny, then ran out of the store. No one was injured in the incident.
