A zero-visibility ground blizzard was blamed Thursday for a 17-vehicle pileup near Burley that killed a Salt Lake man.

Idaho State Police said Charles J. Hymas, 60, was killed at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when the car he was driving was smashed between two trucks after at least one car stopped on I-84, about 20 miles southeast of Burley.At least six other people suffered minor injuries in the wreck, but their names or conditions were not available. Eight semitrailer trucks and nine passenger vehicles were involved.
