Esat Bayindirli, Heber City, glides around a gate in a slalom race at Park City in an effort to qualify for the national championships. Forty-nine skiers competed Saturday, some on two skis with one pole because of a missing arm, others on a mono-ski because of paralyzed legs. Three blind competitors made their runs following lead skiers who shouted out instructions. Skiers came from throughout the United States and as far away as New Zealand to participate in the Huntsman Cup, sponsored by Huntsman Chemical Corp. Twenty-three skiers qualified for the National Disabled Alpine Ski Championships to be held March 26 in Winter Park, Colo.
